The Georgian delegation was met by the city's Vice Mayor Krzysztof Piątkowski and the Chairman of the City Council, Marcin Gołaszewski. The talks focused on the possibilities of deepening business cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of auditing, principles of internal control in local government administration and organization of study visits.

- We are very pleased to welcome His Excellency and Rustavi’s delegation headed by the city Mayor and city council Chairman. Rustavi has been a partner city of Łódź for nearly a quarter of a century, we have a warm relationship and good cooperation in the fields of culture, business, self-government and administration. Of course, there is always space to deepen these relationships to the mutual benefit of the inhabitants of our cities, and I hope that this visit will result in today's visit. We will be pleased to share with friends from Rustavi our experience in the field of evaluation methods and internal control in local government institutions that interest our guests. We are also open to organizing study visits and we are working on the celebration of the 25th anniversary of cooperation - said Vice Mayor Krzysztof Piątkowski. During the two-day stay in Łódź, Rustavi's delegation will be accompanied by Georgian Ambassador, His Excellency Ilia Darchiashvili.

- Thank you to the hosts for the warm welcome. As you know, Georgia is actively seeking to join the structures of the European Union. To achieve this goal we need knowledge of solutions used in the Union, including Łódź , which has extensive experience in self-government. I am convinced that the current visit will be as fruitful as the previous one and will allow us to strengthen our relations, especially in the context of the 25th anniversary of their establishment - said the ambassador.

The delegation is chaired by Mr. Irakli Tabaghua, who has held the office of Mayor of Rustavi for a year and two months, and this is his second visit to Łódź. The Mayor thanked the authorities, representatives of the local government and all the inhabitants of Łódź for the hospitable reception. I would like to emphasize that the City of Łódź Office is a unique partner who willingly shares his much needed experience in the field of self-government and administration. Last year's visit resulted in many solutions that we have introduced in relation to revitalization and creating a participatory budget. The leading theme of the current visit is audit and internal control and budget planning. I also hope that in connection with the upcoming anniversary of establishing the relationship, we will prepare an attractive program for its celebrations, including studio exchanges, cultural and sporting events.

- Łódź for many years after the political changes took advantage of the experience of self-governments of other countries, especially Western Europe - we learned self-governance and democracy from our partners from Stuttgart or Chemnitz. We are happy that now we can pass our experience after the transformation of 1989 to other partners and that this cooperation is going perfectly well. During the talks, a number of ideas appeared that we would like to implement in the near future with a view to strengthening and deepening cooperation with partners from Georgia
- added Marcin Gołaszewski, Chairman of the City Council in Łódź.
