During a two-day visit to Łódź, young journalists from our partner city of Chengdu also visited the City of Łódź Office. The meeting was organized as a part of the promotion of the railway connection from Łódź to Chengdu.

Guests met, among others with Monika Karolczak, Deputy Director of the Municipal Investor Service and International Cooperation Office, which btw answered young people’s questions about the impact of the Polish-Chinese rail connection on the development of Łódź. – Since the launch of the connection interest in Łódź and the region has definitely increased among development companies involved in the construction of warehouse facilities – said Monika Karolczak. Of course, new jobs has also been created at Hatrans company. The interest of Universities in logistics related fields is also growing. Łódź has become a significant multimodal port for exporting goods from Poland and the European Union to China.

Hosts in Łódź, Chinese from Little Panda Reporters are between 4,5 and 13 years old. Journalism is their passion. Young reporters arranged an interview not only at the City of Łódź Office, but also with the representatives of he Hatrans company, which deal with servicing a train transporting goods from Łódź to China. The group will then travel to Wrocław, Prague, Bratislava and Budapest. After returning, in their schools they will present reports from the trip to Łódź and Europe and the importance of economic  cooperation developing thanks to the train running between the twin cities of Łódź and Chengdu. On the first day of their visit (August 1), the children met their peers at the Julian Tuwim Youth Palace in Łódź, which participated in the semi-camps implemented in this institution. They also made a short visit to the Central Museum of Textiles and walk along Piotrkowska street.
