POLAND-IRELAND NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. DIRECTION: ŁÓDŹ

As part of the Lodz celebration of St. Patrick's Day, a Polish-Irish investment seminar was held in cooperation with the Embassy of Ireland in Poland, Enterprise Ireland, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and the Łódź Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

On Monday, 29th of March 2021, a Polish-Irish investment seminar entitled POLAND-IRELAND NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. DIRECTION: ŁÓDŹ was held.  The seminar was divided into three thematic areas: the first concerned attracting investors from Ireland, the second, encouraging our companies from Łódź to export to Ireland thanks to new opportunities caused by BREXIT, and the third one was devoted to smart city solutions. The meeting was opened by the vice-president of the City of Łódź, Mr. Adam Pustelnik, and the Ambassador of Irland to Poland, H.E. Emer O'Connell.

Apart from the Economic Development and International Cooperation Office of the City of Łódź Office, the organization of the seminar was also possible thanks to: the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, the Łódź Chamber of Industry and Commerce and our Irish partners: the Embassy of Ireland in Poland and Enterprise Ireland. The first panel concerned the possibility of doing business in Poland and in Łódź. The Łódź Special Economic Zone informed about the investment conditions and support provided to new companies, and the Polish-Irish investor, OPG, shared its experience on the Łódź market. The participants learned about the history of Off Piotrkowska and the company's further development plans. The discussion was also attended by representatives of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and Vistra Corporate Services - Irish-Polish Chamber of Commerce (IPCC) and it was led by Mr. Mateusz Sipa, Deputy Director of the Economic Development and International Cooperation Office. The seminar was an opportunity to talk among specialists about the economic potential of our City for investors from Ireland, as well as about new opportunities for Łódź companies that appeared on the Irish market in connection with BREXIT.

Among the participants of the seminar there were companies from Łódź that already export their goods to the Irish market and those that are interested in expanding their activities and testing their strength on the island. This topic was discussed in the second panel, led by Mr. Rafał Ostrowski, Director of the Łódź Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and was attended by representatives of Vitesi, Mikomax, Atlas and Superior Products. In the last part of the seminar, the participants talked about intelligent solutions for cities, as well as the Irish and Łódź experiences. Mr. Maciej Riemer, Director of the Department of Ecology and Climate, and the companies participating in the panel talked about their experiences in implementing ecological, intelligent solutions in cities. Among the participants were: ICT Enterprise Ireland, Solar AdTek, Push to Talk International and IPL Group Polska. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Bartosz Siepracki from Enterprise Ireland. The participants watched a presentation of a new Internet platform gathering international tenders of Orbital Group, as well as a specially prepared film-coverage of the celebration of St. Patrick's Day in Łódź.
