Professor Sławomir Wiak has been nominated by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP) to the new Expert Group on Innovation Ecosystems. He is the only representative from Poland. The first meeting of the group will be held on 5 November in Brussels. On the following day, a conference organised by the European Committee of the Regions will be held, during which the participants will discuss, among others, the role of universities in the development of innovation ecosystems.

Professor Sławomir Wiak, rector of the Lodz University of Technology, has become an expert of the European Uni-versity Association – an organisation bringing together more than 800 universities and national conferences of rectors from as many as 48 European countries. EUA works for the development of higher education in Europe and represents the education sector in social and political fora. The organisation plays a key role in the area of science, research and innovation in higher education.
