The organization was founded in 1991 and its main goal is to represent and defend the interests of local communities in which light industry operates. Łódź has been a member of ACTE since 2005.- Light industry or the broadly understood textile industry are still developing, and Łódź with its rich textile tradition is still an important center in this field. Together with other European cities, we want to develop a platform for cooperation, exchange of experience and mutual support of new projects mainly in the field of modern technologies, design and fashion – said the Mayor of Łódź Hanna Zdanowska, Chairwoman of the ACTE General Meeting.

The common goals of further cooperation, similar traditions and historical conditions for the development of cities related to the textile industry were also emphasized by other representatives of the ACTE authorities: Daniella Toccafondi from Italy, Michel Franc from Belgium and Nelly Hayek, ACTE coordinator from Sweden.

The ACTE general meeting in Łódź closes the three-day visit and meeting of the members of this organization in Łódź, which will be ended in the evening Diploma Gala at the Academy of Fine Arts.
