This year, representatives of as many as 8 partner cities will come to Łódź - Szeged (Hungary), Chemnitz and Stuttgart (Germany), Tampere (Finland), Lviv and Odessa (Ukraine), Minsk (Belarus), as well as Tianjin and Guangzhou (China).
The theme of V edition of the Forum is the management of city centers in the aspect of monument renovation and sustainable economic, social and cultural development in order to make downtown attractive places for professional and personal life. During the all day seminar, which will take place on September 18 this year at IFE PŁ, will be presented the City’s activities in the field of revitalization of Łódź city quarters and the development of creative industries. The invited partner cities will also share their experiences in the field of revitalization and modernization. The seminar will be graced with the presence of: Deputy Mayor of the City of Łódź Krzysztof Piątkowski and His Magnificence Rector of The Łódź University of Technology prof. dr. hab. Eng Sławomir Wiak.
After the visit at the Łódź University of Technology, delegations of partner cities will go to the bus stop at the Łódź Fabryczna station near the Moniuszko Park, where plates with the names of partner cities of Łódź will be unveiled. It will be a kind of gesture of support for Łódź efforts to organize the International Exhibition Expo 2022, devoted to the subject of revitalization, under the slogan “City Re: Invented“. All this just before the final vote, which will take place in November this year in Paris. In the evening at the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music, guests from partner cities will listen to the concert preformed by graduated of Łódź University.
The Łódź Partner Cities Forum has been a platform for talks in a group of friendly and cooperating metropolises for several years. At now Łódź has 20 partner cities. Contacts with them are a source of inspiration, they are also a great opportunity to promote good practices of our city, its development and strategic activities.
The organizer of this year’s event is the Investor Service and International Cooperation Office of the City of Łódź.
