The visit have a courtesy character. During the meeting (December 12, 2017), Ambassador Ivan Jestřáb and Hanna Zdanowska discussed, among others the history and development of Łódź as well as about the possibilities of cooperation in various fields.
On November 7, 2017 Ivan Jestřáb forwarded his credentials to President Andrzej Duda and officially assumed the function of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Poland. Previously, he served as Deputy Minister for security and multilateral relations, director of the UN Department at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was also an Ambassador in India, Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia, Georgia and Armenia. In the years 2002-2004 he was an advisor on the foreign policy of the Czech prime minister.
