Awarding the title of European Capital of Culture 2025 completes a four-year application process involving all residents. Many years of efforts have brought a great effect. Chemnitz won thanks to it's impressive BID BOOK preparation. Motto of the book:

"C the unseen"

Following the motto "see the unseen", Chemnitz2025 looks at the "unseen" in the "quiet center". “Unseen” city, “unseen” European neighbors, “unseen” places and biographies, “unseen” talents of each individual. The program also covers many other invisible cities and regions in Europe, which are a strong part of it but remain in the shadows. People, inhabitants, the "unseen" ones are especially important here.

The European jury voted for the Chemnitz project, appreciating it's uniqueness. We are confident that Chemnitz will be a great host of the European Capital of Culture in 2025. Chemnitz invites all European cities to participate, especially it's competitors Hanover, Hildesheim, Magdeburg and Nurnberg.
