XOXO WiFi – Łódź idea for reliable Internet outside EU

Using the Internet abroad, particularly outside the European Union, does not have to be difficult and related to high costs. A start-up from Łódź, XOXO WiFi, created a portable router dedicated to persons travelling outside the EU. After launching, the device connects to the operator that has the strongest signal at a place we happen to be. A start-up signed agreements with over 300 telecoms and we can use the router in over 130 countries.

The Internet is obtained from local operator thanks to which the users use the networks with a good range and at an attractive price. The advantage of the solution is undoubtedly the fact that no matter where and how much Internet we use, after coming back to our country we will not be charged with additional costs.

The principal customers (approx. 70% of users) are families leaving for vacation. The remaining 30% are businessmen leaving for business trips. The device is a success – most of the customers (60–70%) takes the XOXO WiFi router also for their next travel. Young entrepreneurs have engaged in cooperation with the Polish Ski Federation, Helios cinemas network, Mercedes or Łódź Special Economic Zone. The start-up takes part in events organised by the Zone which is a great opportunity to reach new customers. XOXO WiFi services mainly Polish users, however, the number of foreign recipients is continuously growing.
