 IT LABUOR MARKET 

Employment in the IT sector in Łódź has been gradually growing.

While according to the most recent ABSL report, the headcount in Łódź IT corporate centres amounts to 8,900 people,
Antal’s estimations show that the total number of IT specialists (including those employed in other sectors) exceeds 16 thousand people.

The total scale of employment in SSC/GBS / IT / BPO / R&D in Łódź amounts to 25,900 people, including 34,4% or 8,900 people employed by centres with IT processes as a dominant profile.


 IT GRADUATES 

 

Lodz's academic ecosystem educates about 1,000 IT graduates.

The Lodz University of Technology,  one of the best universities in the country, plays a leading role in this respect.

Individual faculties of the Lodz  University of Technology cooperate in the field of adjusting academic programmes, equipping laboratories, offering internship opportunities for students or implementing projects commissioned by, among others, the following business partners: Airbus Helicopters, Infosys Poland, Bosh Siemens Home Appliances, Henkel and Mars.

 ICT CLUSTER 

The ICT Cluster connects ICT companies, business environment institutions and Łódź high education institutions including Łódź University of Technology as the coordinator.

The cluster has been set up in Łódź to facilitate the flow of information between various representatives of the sector: companies, scientific community, start-ups, etc.
The cluster also offers internships and jobs to students and graduates, and organizes events aimed to present the IT industry in Łódź to potential investors.

The main goals of ICT Cluster include:

integration of the environment of entities from the IT, telecommunications and electronic industries,

supporting entrepreneurship and developing the labour market in the area of ICT,

creating conditions for the implementation of new information and information technologies,

organising trainings for personnel for the IT, telecommunications and electronic industries.

The Cluster serves to foster integration of the industry organizations, build social awareness of education, employment and further development opportunities in the IT industry in the region.
Professional development and training of workforce for the vigorously growing ICT industry in the region is a significant aspect of the Cluster activity.
It is realized through ongoing cooperation of the University faculties with the organizations in the Cluster, which entails attuning Lodz University of Technology education programmes to job market needs.

The ICT Central Poland Cluster also cooperates with central and local government agencies on existing and future potential of the ICT industry for the creation of the job market, investment, and economic development of the region.
