During the first day of their stay in Łódź, guests visited the Cinematography Museum and took part in a Business Seminar that was organized at the Łódź Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting was attended by business representatives interested in economic contacts with Spain and Ms Zuzanna Gołębiewska, Director of the Office of the Polish-Spanish Chamber of Commerce. Then the guests went to the Academy of Fine Arts, where under the leadership of Mrs Rector professor Jolanta Rudzka-Habisiak had the opportunity to become familiar with the rich scientific and artistic offer of the university, learn about its infrastructure and cooperation proposal.
The culmination of the day was the evening Spanish fiesta, during which the Vice Mayor of Łódź Krzysztof Piątkowski and the Vice Ambassador of Spain Mr Guillermo Escribano Manzano officially inaugurated the celebration of the 20th anniversary. Then on the stage entered the flamenco artists with fascinating, expressive dance and songs accompanied by a guitar. On the other hand, the Spanish chef treated participants of the fiesta with paella that he prepared.
The next day, a delegation from Spain took part in a city tour, along the trail of revitalized buildings and murals in Łódź. In the evening meeting at OFF Piotrkowska, the artists continued their flamenco performances and also there was electronic music performance by a Spanish DJ. You could also watch the movie “Flamenco Flamenco” and a collection of women’s bags, exhibited in the showroom by the Spanish designer Susana Olmos Lopez.
A mural painted on the gate wall at Roosevelt Street by Street Art artist - Carlos Callizo Gutierrez will remained a permanent souvenir of the Spaniards visit.
