The city repeated it success from the previous year taking another podium finish. Among the awarded cities over 100 thousand citizens, Łódź was ranked third. Poznań won the first place, and Gdańsk was second. In turn, Gdynia was ranked fourth.

Although there are many similar initiatives, the Local Government Pearls Ranking is exceptional in numerous ways. The participation in the ranking is entirely free of charge, and the Ranking Chapter consisting of experts on local government from the world of science, business, as well as journalists of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP) monitors the proper course of the selection. The main values of the ranking authors are impartiality and equal opportunities.

Any commune which responded to the survey consisting of 64 content-related questions and 8 open-ended questions sent by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna could take part in the ranking. The results were analysed by a content partner of the campaign, Deloitte Consulting S.A. Only those communes which wanted to prove themselves, compare with others and present their achievements and successes accepted the challenge. This year, leaders of innovative solutions in the area of economy, education, environmental protection and ageing policy were searched for.
