The program of construction of the new railway lines involves conducting the works in several stages. In the first stage, there will be 140 km of lines brought into service. Passengers travelling on the Warsaw – Łódź route and between the airport and lines within the area of the port in the direction of Kutno, Poznań as well as Grodzisk Mazowiecki turning in the direction of Katowice will benefit from them.

In another stage, covering the construction of 870 km of railway lines, the basic transport axes will be made. This part of the project includes the expansion of the “igrek” line. The continuation of the connection between Warsaw and Łódź in the direction of Wrocław and Poznań will correspond to a better connection between the west and east of Poland and a shortening of the travel time on this route.
