It was the first meeting with the Japanese Ambassador, who started his diplomatic mission in Poland in November 2020. The meeting concerned the hitherto cooperation of Łódź with Japanese partners - inter alia in terms of economic cooperation and the presence of Japanese investors in Łódź and the region; incl. Fujitsu, Takeda, Fuji Seal Poland, Nippon Seiki or Japan Tobacco, or in the field of academic cooperation, especially in the field of fashion and design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. Among other topics, the most important projects in Łódź and green solutions implemented in Łódź were also discussed. The Ambassador also appreciated Japanese accents in Łódź - Sakura trees, planted together with Japanese partners since 2013.

As part of the XIV Japanese Days organized by the Yakumo-goto Club and the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Łódź, President Hanna Zdanowska met with His Excellency Miyajima Akio, Ambassador of the Empire of Japan in Poland.
