So far, the tumble dryer production has been taking place at a factory in Amiens, France, however, the investor is gradually phasing it out. Devices are also produced in a factory in Yate, England, however, those are supplied to the British and Irish markets only. Goods produced in Łódź will be supplied to the EMEA market, that is, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Poland constitutes the largest production location of Whirpool Corporation in the EMEA region. The investment of a foreign concern confirms that the Łódź Region is one of the three main household appliances centres in Poland.
The opening of the factory is the last in a series of investments as part of a so-called Business Plan for Poland which Whirpool announced in 2015. The Plan assumed that by 2018, the company will have spent PLN 1.3 billion in our country.
In the EMEA region, Whirpool employs around 22 thousand employees, conducts sale in over 30 countries and has production plants and technological research centres in 7 of them.
