“Boturini Codex- Ribbon on Peregrination: Indian Book on the Origin of the Aztecs” is a high quality reproduction of the Aztec book Boturini Code. The 5.5mx 0.2m book was made on amate paper, which had been made in Mexico since pre-Columbian times. It was folded in harmonica, according to the tradition of pre-Hispanic books. The production presented on exhibition  was made at the same amate paper, made by using a traditional method by Indian artists from Pahutlan.

It is the first exhibition in Poland of one of the painted Mesoamerican Codes, bearing a detailed scientific description on the display board and accompanying videos. It also enables the presentation of knowledge about the pre- Hispanic cultures of central Mexico to the wide audience.

The initiator of the exhibition is His Excellency Alejandro Negrin, The Ambassador of Mexico in Poland, who brought the reproduction of the “Boturini Code” to Poland.

The exhibition was prepared by the Institute of Iberian and Ibero-American Studies, Faculty of Modern Languages at the University of Warsaw.
