United colours of Łódź - We support foreigners in the city

For the second time this year, we invite all non-governmental organizations operating in the academic environment to participate in the grant competition. This time, through grants for student projects, the City of Łódź Office initiates activities for foreigners in the city. The competition will start on March 26 and will last until April 14.

As part of the competition, non-governmental organizations can obtain subsidies for projects implemented from May to the end of October this year. Projects should be related to:

  • supporting the integration of foreign students at universities in Łódź, introducing the culture and traditions of foreign students, facilitating adaptation and assimilation as well as studying at Łódź universities;
  • implementation by the scientific and academic community of projects based on the knowledge deepened at the faculties of the university, addressed to foreigners in Łódź (such as, for example, legal advice, language classes for children and adults, art workshops, integration classes, etc.).

- Łódź has always been a multicultural city open to everyone, which is why I am very happy that there are more and more foreigners in our city. More and more of them choose to study at universities in Łódź, and more and more children from other countries study in Łódź schools. Łódź companies employ more and more employees from abroad every year. We have about 5,000 foreign students at Łódź universities. It is with all foreigners from Łódź in mind that we are launching a grant competition in which universities can submit integration and assimilation projects for new residents of Łódź. From March 26, we are accepting applications for the competition "Academic Łódź Friendly to New City Residents". We have 88 thousand zlotys for the winning projects, said the deputy mayor of the city of Łódź, Adam Pustelnik.

This Wednesday, March 31 at 1.30 pm, an online meeting will be held on the website of the Opus Center, dedicated to all those interested in participating in the competition. Each organization that decides to apply to the competition can count on the Operator's help and advice in preparing the application.

The maximum amount of subsidy in the "Academic Lodz Friendly to New City Residents" competition is PLN 12,000. PLN. The applicant must demonstrate his own contribution in the amount of at least 10% of the total value of the project.

The total budget allocated to grants in the competition is PLN 88,000.
