Visit of Flanders Government's Representative

On Tuesday, June 16, Łódź was visited by a representative of the Flanders Government in Poland and the Baltic States, Mr. Dries Willems. In the City Hall he met with the Deputy Mayor of the City of Lodz, Joanna Skrzydlewska.

The meeting with Mr. Willems was a courtesy visit. It was his first stay in our city.

The representative of the Flanders Government was interested in how Łódź manages European funds as their largest beneficiary in Poland. The topic of overcoming the pandemic crisis was also raised, not only in the sphere of economy but also in the sphere of culture.

During the meeting, the ambassador also had the opportunity to learn about key projects for the city, both those already undertaken and those planned for the coming months.

Other discussed topics included the city's activities in the field of spreading tolerance, counteracting hate speech and pro-equality projects.

The representative of the Flemish Government also proposed the organization of a joint cultural project - a photo exhibition and invited representatives of the City to take part in an online seminar on water management in the city.
