The preparations for widening the A2 motorway have entered another phase – it is now known who will prepare the project for this undertaking. Transprojekt Gdański with its offer worth PLN 2.48 million has won the tender for creating a redevelopment plan. 

The aim of the total 600-million investment is to complete another lane in the route section between the Łódź Północ interchange and the border with the Mazowieckie Region. The extension will cover 89 km of the road. A contractor should submit the required documents on the concept of the construction work by autumn 2020. Then, the phase of obtaining building permits will start, and later, a tender for selecting the project contractor. 

According to assertions of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), the construction will be carried out without withholding the traffic on the motorway. It is worth adding that the further A2 section in the Mazowieckie Region will be extended simultaneously up to the Konotopa interchange.
