New Centre of Łódź

The New Centre of Łódź is one of the largest coherent urban development and regeneration projects in Central and Eastern Europe. It is a unique scheme covering 100 hectares of land in the very heart of the city, intended to find balance between various urban functions and to create a new, modern multi-functional centre, combining residential, business, cultural, commercial and transport functions.

What makes the New Centre of Łódź unique is the direct proximity of the Fabryczna Railway Station which constitutes an integral part of the district. Once the city diameter tunnel to Łódź Kaliska and Łódź Żabieniec stations is completed, the newly redeveloped underground railway station will become a part of the multimodal transport hub, connecting railway transport services, long-distance bus services, public transport services and road transport. The station is designed to support the planned high-speed rail route (HSR), which will provide a connection to the new Solidarity Transport Hub and Warsaw, strengthening the idea of Duopolis, improve the transport grid, and significantly reduce travel time to other large cities in Poland and abroad.

The New Centre of Łódź (NCŁ) becomes the most modern area in the heart of the city combining business, cultural, commercial, and transportation functions. In the NCŁ area are situated, among others, new office buildings improving the quality of the project. Apart from Łódź Fabryczna railway station and new modern, environmentally-friendly office buildings employing in the New Centre of Łódź the EC-1 complex is located: a former power plant, currently housing the most modern planetarium in Poland, National Center of Film Culture, Center of Comics and Interactive Narration and modern conference and events areas is also located among others in the NCŁ area.
