"How women do business in Poland and Israel" Conference

The City of Łódź is a partner of the conference on women's entrepreneurship entitled HOW WOMEN DO BUSINESS IN POLAND AND ISRAEL...AND WHY THEY ROCK! It is the biggest Polish-Israeli event of 2019: the conference on female entrepreneurship.

Panel discussions and workshops about technology, science and media. Future of urbanization, challenges in fashion and beauty industries, thriving (and change-making) in a fast-paced world. The most inspirational success stories, and the biggest difficulties – all these (and many more!) will be discussed during The First Polish-Israeli Conference on Female Entrepreneurship “How Women in Poland and Israel Do Business… And Why They Rock!” at The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation in Yafo on Sept 19th 2019.

The conference is held under the honorary patronage of Agata Kornhauser-Duda, the First Lady of Poland. It will be the first of its kind and the biggest Polish-Israeli event of 2019. Why do the conference organizers think of connecting both countries through female entrepreneurship?

-We see the spirit of empowerment equally among Polish and Israeli women.  Female entrepreneurs of both our countries have a lot of common traits –courage, creativity and self-reliance, to name just a few- due in part to hundreds of years of shared history of our two nations. It's high time we gathered together and discussed our experiences, hopes, and projects, - learning new skills from each other. This conference is a perfect opportunity for new initiatives, new synergies, and new business partnerships. – says Katarzyna Rybka-Iwańska from the Polish Embassy in Tel Aviv.

Participants will meet role models representing various industries. Successful women speaking at the conference will include: Professor Yuli Tamir, Karin Mayer-Rubinstein, Cecile Blilious, Orna Hoznar-Bechor and many more. Male speakers and guests are naturally invited, too.

The conference aims at sharing best practices and experiences on the role of women in our ever-changing business and social environment, as seen from their own perspective and that of their male colleagues. It will be divided into several sessions focused on science, innovation, design and beauty, tourism, media and social engagement. In addition, Google – one of the conference’s partners – will conduct two sessions of its world-renowned “I Am Remarkable” workshops.

During the conference an exhibition of jewelry by artists associated with the Academy of Fine Arts "Department of Jewelry at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź - diplomas" will be organized. We are also planning a screening of animated films by students of the Łódź Film School, prepared in cooperation with the Film Museum, which will take place during the evening reception at the residence of the Polish Ambassador in Tel Aviv. Among the outstanding experts and panelists of the conference Prof. Agnieszka Kurczewska will appear in the panel on the role of women in science.
