Visit of the delegation from Barreiro in Łódź (09 - 12.04.2018)
From 9 to 12 April 2018, Łódź was visited by a five-person delegation from the partner city of Barreiro. It was courtesy visitand and aimed to a large extent, to acquaint the newly elected Barreiro city officials with Łódź, getting to know the city, getting to know the biggest city investments and talks on the possibility of implementing joint actions between cities in the future. As part of the visit, among others, talks with the Urban Forms Foundation regarding the implementation of an information application regarding Łódź murals and the city's tourist offer.
Possible fields for future cooperation between cities were also discussed:
- deepening academic cooperation with universities in Łódź (including exchanges of professors and students),
- exchange of experience regarding the implementation of the city revitalization program, civic budget, care for the elderly, city cleaning, etc.,
- establishing cooperation with Bionanopark in Łódź,
- encouraging Łódź investors to implement hotel investments in Barreiro,
- implementation of joint cultural and sporting events in subsequent years.
At the end of the visit, the delegation from Barreiro visited Łódź with a guide. The guests had the opportunity to visit EC1 Łódź - City of Culture, Priest's Mill, Museum of the City of Łódź, Piotrkowska Street, Manufaktura and other places important for Łódź history.
